As stated previously, the slim tendon of the obturator internus muscle is often hidden from view by the tendons of the superior gemellus and the inferior gemellus muscles. These muscles flank the tendon of the obturator internus muscle as they pass from their origin on the pelvic aspect of the ischial body (superior gemellus from the ischial spine; inferior gemellus from the ischial tuberosity) and insert into the tendon of the obturator internus muscle. Both gemelli muscles are lateral rotators. |
